Medical Nutrition of the Lowcountry
Courtney Collett MS, RD, LD
Medical Nutrition of the Lowcountry uses medical nutrition therapy to foster healthy habits and lifestyle changes needed for success. Medical nutrition takes nutrition counseling a step further by involving your primary care physicians to implement nutrition plans based on proven scientific strategies. Nutrition plans are personalized based on each individual's goals, pre-existing conditions, and medical histories.
Whether your goal is to lose weight, reduce risk for diabetes, manage heart disease or hypertension, or anything in between, I can help you!
Nutrition counseling services and all programs are provided by Courtney Collett, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist registered in the US and licensed in South Carolina and Georgia. This means that you are getting evidence-based, clinically proven diet therapies that can reduce risk, manage, or prevent disease. These are NOT crash diet plans from someone that self-proclaims themself as a "nutritionist."
ABOUT THE DIGITAL NUTRITION PLATFORM:
Digital nutrition is like traditional nutrition counseling with a dietitian, except that it can be done from the comfort of your own home through phone, video, or even written materials.
The BIG difference? Availability.
With digital nutrition, you have the ability to communicate with the dietitian, with or without an appointment.
Medical Nutrition of the Lowcountry uses a special online/app platform called Healthie that enables you to create a personal profile that allows you to do the following:
- Health journal to easily track progress
- Meal planning
- Fitness tracking
- Programs and challenges you can join
- Diet intake evaluation
- Goals with subgoals to track successes
- Chat/send messages to the dietitian
- Access to tips and helpful nutrition information
- Immediate feedback from the dietitian
- Schedule video or phone appointments online
- Make payments online, and receive SuperBills that you can give to insurance for reimbursement
